This site should work for you whatever you are using to read it. Here is where we stand, honestly, and how to tell us when we have missed something.

Our commitment

Can Man is committed to making canmanclean.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, use voice control, need larger text or higher contrast, or have motion sensitivity.

We treat accessibility as part of doing the job right, not as a checkbox. If some part of this site keeps you from getting a quote, that is a problem we want to hear about and fix.

The standard we aim for

We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard most commonly referenced for public websites in the United States.

We want to be straight with you about what that means: we have built and tested this site against those guidelines, but we have not had it audited and certified by an independent third party, so we describe WCAG 2.1 AA as our target rather than claiming conformance as a finished fact. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we would rather tell you the truth than post a badge.

What we have done

Specific things built into this site:

  • A “Skip to content” link as the first item on every page, so keyboard users can jump past the navigation.
  • Real headings in a logical order, real buttons, and real links — so a screen reader can announce the page structure and you can navigate by heading.
  • Descriptive alt text on the photographs, written to describe what the picture actually shows rather than repeating the caption.
  • Full keyboard operation. The menu, the FAQ accordion, the photo gallery, and the before-and-after sliders all work without a mouse — the sliders are built on a real range input you can drive with the arrow keys.
  • Reduced-motion support. If your device is set to reduce motion, the scroll animations and the moving hero image switch off automatically.
  • Text contrast chosen to meet the AA contrast ratio against its background, including on the dark green and navy sections.
  • Readable at any size. The layout reflows down to a small phone screen and survives browser zoom without content being cut off.
  • It works without JavaScript. If scripts are blocked or fail to load, the content still renders.

Known limitations

Things we are aware of and are working on, listed here rather than hidden:

  • The before-and-after sliders are a visual comparison by nature. Each one has a label and alt text describing both the dirty and the cleaned state, but the effect itself is visual. If you want the result described to you, call us and we will happily walk you through what we did.
  • Some photo captions and alt text describe surfaces in general terms. We are improving these as we re-shoot jobs.
  • We test on current versions of common browsers and screen readers. Very old browsers may not render the site as intended.

Third-party content

The quote form on our quote page is provided by Jobber, our scheduling software. We do not control its markup, so we cannot guarantee its accessibility the way we can for the rest of the site.

If that form does not work for you, you never have to use it. Call, text, or email us and we will take your details directly and get you the same quote. It is often faster anyway.

If you run into a barrier on this site, please tell us. It genuinely helps, and we will fix what we can.

When you contact us, it speeds things up if you can mention:

  • The page you were on.
  • What you were trying to do.
  • What device, browser, or assistive technology you were using.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to tell you what we plan to do about it. If a fix will take a while, we will say so, and in the meantime we will get you what you needed another way.
